To make language learning a successful journey, it is essential to have all the necessary facilities which are needed in language improvement. The English Unit of our school aims at providing the best possible facilities to make learning English pleasant, while creating a healthy English learning environment. 

Some important activities are being implemented for the students to enhance the four skills related to learning English. First, setting the right kind of environment inside the English Unit can unleash the creative energy of the students, while broadening their knowledge. The English Media Unit, established by the English Unit, conducts English Morning Assembly every Friday, parallel to the English Only Day. It provides maximum opportunities for all the students to overcome their stage fear making a proper platform to perform innumerous talents. English Speaking Club along with that, encourages students, to communicate in English building up their confidence. Also English Unit maintains a Mini Library where reading materials are available allowing students to get themselves addicted to habit of reading, which will be beneficial for them. Our students have been able to bring fame to the school,  competing up to the island level of the English Day Competitions. 

We are glad to say that our students visit the English Unit for their major academic work and co-curricular activities. Lessons are being taught using the modern technology. One period has been allocated for every class per week to learn English in the English Unit with the support of Multimedia facilities. In this way the English Unit of Rohanaraja College-Ranna has put its maximum effort to support learners in learning English effectively.
